Peter Paul Revesz

1924 – 2008

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Peter Revesz on February 5, 2008, as a result of heart complications. Peter was predeceased by his parents, twin brother Valentine, numerous half brothers and sisters, and grandson Jonathan. Peter will be sadly missed by his wife Dorothy, children Gary (Gail) Revesz, Bill (Cathy) Revesz, Lynne (Steve) Fowler, Joe (Donna) Revesz, along with nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three half sisters, sister-in-law Donna and numerous nieces and nephews. Peter was born and raised in Stockholm, Saskatchewan where he and Dorothy farmed and began raising their family. In 1964 they moved to Osoyoos where he did various jobs. He is best known for his long term employment with the Okanagan-Similkameen School District #53. Peter was active in his community through his involvement with St. Anne’s Catholic Parish Church, Church Choir, Community Choir, Knights of Columbus, and Osoyoos Elks #436. Peter’s true love was square dancing. He and Dorothy started dancing 1n 1954 (in Esterhazy Saskatchewan) and in 1975 he began calling and instructing in Osoyoos, Oliver, Tanasket, Riverside and Penticton. Through dances held locally, provincially and across North America, they made countless dear friends and acquaintances. Peter’s passion for music brought him happiness, for he was always singing or whistling a tune. Evening prayers were held on Monday, February 11th at 7:00 p.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Osoyoos. A funeral mass was held on Tuesday February 11th at 10:30 a.m. St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Osoyoos, with celebrants Father Rex Velmonte, and Father Walter Doherty. A reception followed in the Church lower hall. In lieu of flowers, donation will be gratefully accepted to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Children’s Wish Foundation or the charity of your choice. Arrangements were entrusted to Graham Funeral Home.

ROUND DANCE TIME

Dear Friends and Dancers

We have come to the conclusion that now is the time to finally retire
and move on to other things [like just dancing].

Oh I know that I said we would be cueing and teaching all summer,
amongst other things, but I really don’t want to do this anymore.

We thank you for your support and friendship though the years
and hope to see you on a dance floor in the future.

We also hope, that as one door closes another will open
and
your dancing will go on.

Love to all.
